THE rate of growth of Britain's C-licence fleet is slowing. Last year the number of vehicles increased by 2i per cent, and of operators by 11 per cent. In recent years the rate of expansion has been about 4 per cent.
In December last there were 1,099.282 C-licence vehicles and 547,407 operators. As the following classification by unladen weights shows, there were increases in all categories except those for vehicles between 1-i. tons and 24tons:—
