THE urgent need for an early start on the proposed Sheffield-Leeds Motorway was stressed when a deputation from Yorkshire local authorities met the Minister of Transport, Mr. Watkinson, last week.' In a statement the Ministry said the motorway could not be started in the next few years, although preliminary work was in hand.
. The points made by the deputation are being studied, and Mr. Watkinson has promised to send them his comments.
