Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A variation on the awardwinning Swedish traction device, On-Spot, has been introduced to help UK bus and coach operators keep their fleets mobile in slippery winter conditions.

The new model, On-Spot 06, is designed for installation where underfloor space is severely restricted and comprises a small wheel to which are attached six short lengths of special chain.

The wheel is mounted on a cranked arm which is lowered by an air operating cylinder controlled by a button on the dashboard. The wheel makes contact with the inside lower wall of the tyre and revolves, with the chains making directo contact with the immediate tyre footprint area.

The device is permanently installed, offering all-yearround traction and is available from the UK concessionaire, James Jones and Sons of Larbert, Stirlingshire.
