• Bury and Leigh Corporations ,were both granted fares increase for one year in Manchester on Monday.
• Bury will maintain the 3d minimum, but will increase 4d. 5d, 6d, 8d, 10d and 1s fares by 1d and 7d, 9d, 11d and 1s 1d by 2d. Threepenny increments will be introduced as routes are converted to o-m-o double-deckers. The increase, commencing December 30, will realize an additional £56,800 annually.
Leigh also retains the 3d minimum, but on December 15 the 31d, 44-d, 5+d and 6id will be increased by Id and all over 8d by 1d to yield E20,000 annually.
