Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW. vehicle-mounted loading and unloading system will shortly be made available to British transport operators. Manufactured under licence by Edibrac Ltd., of Ashton Road, Bredbury, Stockport, and marketed as the Translifta, the patented equipment is designed by Klaus GMB, of Memmingen, Germany.

The system consists of two arms mounted at each end of the vehicle or trailer body and hydraulically powered from the engine via a pto, thus making the vehicle to which it is fitted completely self-loading. Operation is by a remote control unit on a free-running lead, which enables the driver to control all operations from any position.

Five minutes is the claimed time needed for any loading or unloading job, including the handling of freight containers and flats, timber, pipes, waste skips, etc. Unloading can be carried out to any vehicle, trailer, rail wagon or to ground level.

Initially, the range will comprise units of 8 and 13-ton capacity, followed shortly by a 23-ton unit.
