ATWICE-WEEKLY air service, on Tuesday's and Thursdays, between Glasgow •and Skye, was scheduled to be started yesterday (Thursday) by Northern and Scottish Airways, Ltd. This is one of the five companies in the big British Airways combine and has been running services to the isle of Man and Carnpbeltown from its base at Renfrew Aerodrome:.
On the new service passengers leave the centre of Glasgow by car at 9 a.m. and Renfrew Aerodrome at 9.30 a.m., arriving at Skye at 11 a.m. The machine leaves there at noon arid reaches Renfrew at 1.30 p SO . , SO that passengers are in Glasgow by 2 p.m. The single fare is £3 5s. and the return fare £0 10s. The distance by air between Glasgow and Skye is about 122 miles on a direct course.
