BUSINESS MOVES

Oullooding terminal

• Frigoscandia's 30,500-pallet, high-bay, cold-store primary distribution centre in Grimsby has been completed with the building of an out loading terminal. The new terminal, part of a Dm development, offers a comprehensive sub-zero storage, handling and picking facility Operating 24 hours a day, the terminal has 5.200 pallet locations and eight loading bays. It handles up to 1,500 pallets a day.

Tilbury site

• The Uniserve Croup has constructed an east London freight hub at 'Filbury, costing 1:5.5m. The hub, which covers six acres, is on the fringe of the port. It will provide more than 1,340m2 warehousing and transit support services as well as a similar amount of office space.

Road charges

• The Transport Research Laboratory has produced a CD-ROM on recent research into road user charging between 1995 and 1998. It is a compilation of 20 research reports covering a wide range of topics including enforcement by vehicle num ber-plates, evasion of road charging and driver prefer ence for user charging. The compilation features contributions from three companies—Hyder, MVA and Lorien—as well as the Department of Transport. Cost: 1:295.
