Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Hargrave International is adding 24 Leyland Daf 95-360 twin-steer tractive units and 38 refrigerated semi-trailers to its UK and international fleet at a cost approaching £2m.

Powered by 268kW (360hp) 11.6-litre engines, the top-ofthe-range units have Daf's ECAS air suspension to match the RO-R Flexair suspension of the chassis-less Gray and Adams reefer trailers. Together they give a smoother ride and allow the trailer height to be adjusted.

Fitted with ThermoKing's slimline SMX fridge units the 13.6m single or dual compartment trailers with their GRP inner/aluminium outer panelling are built to carry up to 26 UK or 33 Euro pallets.

The trailers are all fitted with the RAM electronic monitoring system which records air temperature, defrost cycles and door opening and closing inside the container. A built-in audio/ visual alarm system is also included.

With the increasing volume of continental work, Hargrave has established a number of trading deals in Europe. However, this does not necessarily mean having operating bases outside the UK, says managing director Graham Eames.

To this end Hargrave is considering using Leyland Dais LOGIQ vehicle management system which can give an artic's position, speed, load temperature and fuel load. To do this, the system uses an on-board computer linked via a cellular phone, radio or satellite system to the vehicle's base.

This will allow HI to collect data from one of its vehicles anywhere in Europe and to contact the driver if necessary.

The new outfits are all finished in Hargrave's latest all-white livery with its black lettering, royal blue 'Hi' logo and reflective red underlining.
