• What with the recent invasion of McDonalds, Pizzas, Budweiser and Gridiron Football on Channel 4, the more cynical among-us have suggested that Britain is in danger of becoming the 53rd State in America. Strangely enough the one thing that America has not been able to sell in the UK is trucks, for with the exception of a few individuals, most British hauliers prefer a European vehicle. This makes the success of European manufacturers in the USA even more significant. We look at how they have been doing it, and how Daimler-Benz has tied up with Freightliner to become one of the fastest growing forces in US truck manufacturing.
