A LOSS of export business in the Middle East and Africa depressed York Trailer's profits in the first half of this year.
The fall in overseas sales, which had a particularly bad effect on the Anthony Carrimore hydraulic plant in Co Durham, meant that overall sales rose only from £11.3m in the first half last year to £83,000 this year.
Net profit fell from £375,000 last year to £83,000 this year.
ASSOCIATED British Ports and the Tung Group of Hong Kong have created a new joint venture company at Southampton, Mayflower Container Terminal, to take over the management, marketing and operation of one of the two container terminals at Southampton.
