Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS the name implies, Dieseltune specialises in test equipment for compression ignition engines. A comprehensive selection is available including the lnjectester, a portable instrument for checking injectors and both DPA and in-line injector pumps. Tests are carried out in-situ with the engine running.

The tester is fitted to the fuel line at either the injector or pump end. When in use with inline pumps it will check the seal between the delivery valve holder and pump as well as barrel element leak-back and delivery valve seat effectiveness. DPA pumps can be checked for transfer and line .output pressure.

Injectors are tested for atomising pressure, blocked nozzles, needle sticking and in fact the injector condition throughout the whole range. The Injector tester comes complete with pipe adapters in its own carrying case. Compressions can be checked with another piece of equipment from Dieseltune. This is a compression gauge, which is fitted in place of the injector and indicates cylinder bore wear and valve/valve seat condition.

A portable tachometer, the Electrotak, works from the fuel line and measures the impulses of the fuel pump, converting them into rpm. The machine incorporates a switch enabling it to be used on petrol engines.

To check fuel injection timing, the Timertak is connected to the fuel system by means of a transducer. A stroboscope is incorporated which picks up on timing injection pump drive. By turning a dial on the strobe until the marks are in line, the correct dynamic timing may be read off. Exhaust gases can be analysed using Dieseltune Smokemeter which checks the density of smoke in diesel exhausts to provide an indication of the state of injectors or fuel pump.
