Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PICKFORDS small lots service is growing up ip a big way. For Britain's largest removals company is expanding this side of its business.

Under the new banner of Pickfords Minor Moves, the company hopes to make its individual consignment service more widely known.

A typical Minor Moves item could be a piece of furniture, antiques or any other hard to handle goods. "Such items could perhaps go by rail but packing and handling at each would be a problem," said a Pickfords spokesman.

Through Pickfords' 188 branches and three clearing depots a Minor Move will be 'taken from a room at one end of the country to a room at the other.

Costs of a Minor Move are based on distance and the size and weight of the object. As an example Pickfords quote £12 for a 200-mile move of a 2 cwt wardrobe.

Depending on distance and location the time taken for a Minor Move can, say Pickfords, be as little as two days or as much as six weeks. But "the average time is around 21 days, approximately the same as most mail order deliveries," said the spokesman.
