Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE GILTSPUR group has announced a £1.29m pre-tax profit for the year 1975/6 'compared with £1.95m for the previous year.

The figures are despite an increased turnover which went up from £46m to £53m during the year. Company chairman Mr Maxwell Joseph blames the situation on depressed trading in transport warehousing and forwarding.

Mr Joseph said in the annual report that the company now own over lm square feet of warehousing and operate from 30 depots and offices nationwide with a back-up of 500 trailers and vehicles in the UK.

He said that the year has been one in which commercial vehicle production was at its lowest for 16 years, but the fact that profits had been maintained was a tribute.
