Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The employees of Morris Transport Ltd, Boldmere, Birmingham. whose managing director is Mr Ron Butt, a former president of the RHA, struck work on Wednesday in protest against failure of the committee of the "assenting hauliers" group to negotiate a new haulage pay agreement with the TGWU. This action was taken despite the fact that a mass meeting of .TGWU members arranged for Wednesday to consider strike action in Birmingham has been officially postponed to August 16 because of holidays in the area. (See "Another Birmingham differential?", page 23).

Commenting on the strike, Mr J. Parnell, secretary of the West Midland area of the RHA, told CM: "The action taken by the employees of this firm would appear to be supported by the TGWU as indicated in a letter to me of July 12 written by Mr A. D. Law, regional trade group secretary."
