"%County Council's central vehicle maintenance unit in the year 1964-5 totalled .£187,927 and the recharges to service departments and miscellaneous income amounted to £193.215. The hourly rate charged for servicing is 205.
Information has been collected concerning alternative ways of maintaining vehicles. Data and statistics in respect of mileages and maintenance costs of the vehicles are now being analysed and will be reported to the county transport committee in September.
Proposals have been approved for the replacement of 212 vehicles during the financial year 1966-7. In the six months ended June 30 last, 50 used vehicles were sold at various motor auctions in Lancashire or in part-exchange for new vehicles.
