Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

rOVERING a total area of 67,000 '4...sq. ft. and having accommodation for 100 vehicles, a fine new station and garage has been opened in Chelmsford by the Eastern National Omnibus Co., Ltd.

The garage floor has an unobstructed area of 40,000 sq. ft., and the loading platforms have a combined length of 550 ft. The garage is at the rear, with an imposing office block at the front. On each side of the central entrance are offices, including those for the administrative staff, for inquiries and parcels., as well as a comfortable waiting-room.

A control tower is located on the first floor; from this point the traffic regulators have a clear view of the whole of the station, and can announce, by means of loud speakers, details of bus departures. The platforms are laid out in front of the station, which is floodlighted.

The Eastern National concern covers 82 routes to and from Chelmsford. On a normal day there are over 800 departures from the town, and approxi

mately 1,000 in the summer. Some 8,000,000 passengers are carried annually on the Chelmsford area services. Eighty vehicles are attached to the depot in the town.

LICENCE SUSPENSIONS QUASHED.

TWO bus drivers employed by Geffigaer Urban District Council, whose licences had been suspended for two months, last week appealed against their conviction by the stipendiary at Pontlottyn. In terminating the period of suspension that day, Major Sir William Cope, Bt., K.C., at Glamorgan Quarter Sessions, Cardiff, announced that the fines would be increased from £2 to £10.

Lancaster Corporation is seeking sanction to borrow £13,950 for the erection of a central bus station in Damside Street.
