MR. A. j. BUTTERFIELD, Of the wellknown tank-manufacturing concern, has recently been elected president for 1037-38 of Shipley Rotary Club.
MR. R. V. STANFORD, of Anderson, Stanford and Ridgeway (1929), Ltd., has been elected . president of the International Association of Furniture Removers.
MR. THOMAS GRAHAM, traffic superintendent at Burnbrae Garage, Milngavie, has been promoted by W. Alexander and Sons. Ltd., to district superintendent at Stepps.
MR, R. J. 'PETTIT'', sales manager of B.E.N. Patents, Ltd., has been appointed a director of the company, which he joined in 1027. He has been connected with the motor trade for 25 years.
Ma. W. HAYNES (secretary), MR. 0. \VANS (chief engineer) and MR. T. P. N. Burtanass, (general works manager) have been elected to the board of Ruston and Hornsby, Ltd.. Lincoln. Each man has had a long association with the company.
Ma. C. A. BOOTHROYD, who has for many years represented C.A.VaBosch, Ltd., in the West of England, has now been appointed resident manager for that area and South Wales, and has taken up residence at 345, Bath Road, Bristol, MR. N. COCKSITUTT, South African manager of Leyland Motors, Ltd., has now completed his business visit to the headquarters of thecompany at Leyland. Until hesleaves for South Africa in the middle of this month, he can be communicated with at the Leyland Cub factory, at Kingston.
MR. C. H. HYLTON, whose portrait appears on this page, has been appointed manager of the export commercial-vehicle section of Rootes, Ltd: He is well known in the commercialvehicle world and has been associated with the Commer and Karrier concerns for many years. He recently completed a world tour, making a detailed snrvey of overseas markets for goods and passenger vehicles.
MR. C. H. 11012DERN has been appointed special overseas representative for Burma and the Far East by Routes, Ltd. He has acquired a wide knowledge of the Many problems peculiar to the marketing and distribution of motor vehicles in overseas countries. In 1930 he was appointed special overseas representative in the Near and Far East for Morris Motors; Ltd., afterwards becoming successively sales manager . (Indian zone) and general . manager (South African section).
