Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Having read the letter from Chris Veasey headed Tunnel Vision (CM 23-29 March), I fear this is what he is suffering from! His comments about the Wales-Ireland tunnel bring to mind that famous British saying: "Fog in the Channel, the Continent is cut off."

While we are an island of only a few million people, we have quite a large export market and the need to get our goods out to our export markets is as great as for any other nation.

Remember, it is Ireland that is on the most westerly edge of the EU, and the ability to cross to the Continent through the UK should not be denied to us if it is feasible to build a tunnel.

I feel it is also safe to assume that the building of any tunnel would be a joint venture and not fully funded by "Britain plc".
