Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Not so long ago purchases of diesel bought in bulk meant a saving of at least 15p per gallon over forecourt prices. Imagine my horror at discovering that a recent purchase of diesel from a leading supplier was in fact 15p per gallon dearer than at a local supermarket's service station. Major oil companies with retail outlets near that supermarket offer the same savings. I have come to the conclusion that it is foolish to invest large sums of money in buying in bulk at the present time because of these market conditions.

Are other hauliers aware of these pricing trends?

Give your wife a treat, go shopping with her to the local supermarket—you could be in for a big surprise.
