QI have a new tractor unit with the following details on the DOT plate: Weights Design not to be weights exceeded I am considering buying a low-loading trailer of 1970 vintage which has the following details only on the DOT plate: There is a new manufacturer's plate on this trailer, which bears the following: OPERATION UNDER CONSTRUCTION & USE Max Design Wt 30000 Max GTW (GB) 30000 Max Design Wt per axle 10170 Max Wt per axle GB Max Wt imp. on tractor 15000 OPERATION UNDER SPECIAL TYPES GTW 45210 Max Wt per axle 15300 There are no speeds mentioned on this plate.
Will you please explain at what axle and gross weights I can presently operate this combination on indivisable loads (STGO CATS 1 & 2), and how these weights will be affected next October? J T, Leicester
