• This week Stagecoach Holdings is taking delivery of Britain's biggest ever bus — a 110-seater on a Leyland Olympian chassis.
It comes from Walter Alexander of Falkirk and will be based at Stagecoach's subsidiary Magicbus in Glasgow for use on services to Easterhouse and the Erskine area.
El Walter Alexander made £6.5 million pre-tax profits in 1988 but now forecasts of 2.5 million for 1989 are being cut.
