THE GOVERNMENT is un.: able to say how many accidents occurred during the last two years involving vehicles carrying corrosive, dangerous or explosive substances.
Transport Secretary William Rodgers, who was asked for these details in the Commons, explained to John Lee (Labour, Handsworth) that statistics on accidents involving the transport of dangerous goods by road, other than those required to be reported under the Petroleum (Consolidation) Act 1928, were not collected systematically.
