Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FRENCH State-owned manufacturer Renault is to acquire a 20 per cent stake in Mack, the American heavy lorry producer (CM, March 23), and now plans to market some of its vehicles in the US through the 800-strong Mack dealer network.

The new chassis range, built at Renault's Blainville factory, will be sold under the Mack name and comprises two basic models: the MS 200 for class 6 and the MS 300 for class 7. In equivalent European terms, class 6 covers the nine to 13 tonnes gross category, and class 7 13 to 15 tonnes. Two new turbocharged engines, one with inlet air charge-cooling, have been developed by Renault Vehicules lndustriels specifically for the UK market. Rated at 130kW and 157kW (175 and 210bhp) SAE, they are more powerful than the engines fitted to the European versions.

The gearbox is from Dana Spicer with an Allison automatic listed as options and an Eaton two-speed axle.

The cab is based on the original Saviem Club of Four design, will carry the Mack name and the company's famous bulldog symbol.
