BUS DRIVERS in Manchester may be asked to switch off their engines when waiting at termini.
The city's environmental health chiefs have requested the move as a means of cutting down pollution from exhaust fumes.
Director of Manchester's environmental services committee Eric Foskett said: "It is common prudence, both from the air pollution and fuel conservation points of view."
