Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

which weighs 2 tons 19cwr ulw. Could this vehicle be used for drawbar trailer operation without the driver holding an hgv licence?

A Because the unladen weight of your ' vehicle does not exceed 3 tons it is classified as a "motor car".

Also, it is not so constructed that a trailer may, by partial superimposition, be attached in such manner as to cause a substantial part of the weight of the trailer to be borne thereby (an articulated outfit). It does not therefore fall within the definition of a heavy goods vehicle as con

tamed in Section 124 of the Road .Traffic Act 1972 and an hgv licence is not required to drive it.

The addition of a drawbar trailer makes no difference to the classification of your vehicle and it can be driven with an ordinary (Part HI) driving licence when it is drawing such a trailer.
