• What could be the only 7ft 6in. wide bus operating in the London area entered service this week. Operated by Continental Pioneer Coaches the bus is being used on an old London Transport route — no 235 from Richmond Hill to Richmond town centre.
No vehicle of more than 8ft wide is allowed to use Richmond Hill The bus is a special narrow version of Ford's R1014 chassis with a Willowbrook body. Built to bus grant specification, the bus has 43 seats and cost .C9,700.
