Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A mock-up of a British Leyland double-deck bus design, in project form, is on show this week. It is one of a large collection of exhibits and displays at Crowthome, Berkshire, organized by the Transport and Road Research Laboratory under the title "Moving people in cities".

The exhibition — open yesterday and today by invitation — is accompanied by a conference on urban transport developments which was opened yesterday by the Minister for Transport Industries.

The Leyland double-deck mock-up is designed particularly to demonstrate the corporation's current studies of passenger requirements in terms of boarding, alighting and internal environment. Also shown by the corporation is a new prototype business commuter version of the Leyland National, fitted with many special aids such as a full secretariat, colour tv and refreshment facilities. A Leyland National quiet bus and , a Stevenage Superbus are other BLMC exhibits.

Among other vehicles on show are Metro-Scania quiet buses, the RollsRoyce-engined LPG-powered double-decker (CM March 30), prototype electric vehicles from Lucas and the Electricity Council and a Bristol RE featuring bus location and control equipment.

Applications of road pricing are among TRRL's own displays, while the GLC is showing bus priority systems and Ford the Dial-a-Ride scheme.

Next week's CM will contain an illustrated report of the exhibition and conference.
