35a, Naylor Road, London, S.E.I5, will be available for use by coaches for parking during the Festival of Britain. The fee will be 4s. The site is about 2i miles from the Festival grounds.
National Car Parks, Ltd., 12, Grosvenor Hill, London, W.1, has been appointed to handle Festival parking arrangements. Signposting to the coach parking section at Clapham Common will be arranged. Advance booking of space will be unnecessary, it is stated. The fee for a coach will be 5s. a day.
The police are making every effort, states the Passenger Vehicle Operators' Association to grant permits to operators wishing to set down passengers on the highway in the controlled area in London during the Festival.
A special department has been opened at Scotland Yard to deal with permit applications. Where these are refused, reasons will be given and alternative arrangements suggested.
If, in an emergency, applications should have to be submitted by telephone, every endeavour will be made to give immediate decisions. During the Festival. the Scotland Yard office will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. for such inquiries. \
