KEEN competition among bodybuilders, it is stated, accounted for Glasgow Transport Department's obtaining 30 new bus bodies more cheaply than before.
The contract went to an English company which is reported to have quoted considerably less than the Scottish concerns which tendered, although it had been hoped that the work could have gone to a native undertaking.
