Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I READ WITH interest 'Will this be a sign of the past?' ( CM 22 August).

I wholeheartedly agree with an increase in speed to reduce frustration, anger and downright dangerous manoeuvres by other nonLGV traffic.

I received three penalty points and a £60 fine for driving on the A9 at 50mph (driving HGV 1) at approximately 3am.

On this particular morning, I didn't see another vehicle of any kind for about an hour and a half after the camera caught me, nor a pedestrian for that matter!

Therefore, my interest would be in allowing increased speed at certain times. For example: if we are talking about the A9, this could have an increase to 50mph between the hours of say, 8pm and 6am, where there is a considerably lower number of vehicles on the road.

This would also encourage hauliers to use this time more favourably, thus incurring more efficient deliveries, less stress on the drivers and, indeed, fewer deaths! What are other CM readers' thoughts on this? Lisa Wilson Class 1 Driver
