Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

III Vehicle Recall Bulletin number 33 from the Department of Transport highlights three trucks, three vans, one hus and a pickup with problems.

Some Scania Series 3 vehicles built in 1990 may have had the nut that secures the drag link to the stub axle steering arm incorrectly torqued. The vehicles in question have identification numbers between 1165799 and 1165965.

And on Renault G260 and G290 6x2 models with the identification numbers 501231 to 502481 {inclusive) it is possible for the intermediate axle spring retaining bolts to foul the brake actuators.

Volvo FL617 rigids fitted with FAT 7.1 tonne front axles built between 10 Sept 1990 and 11 Jan 1991 are also subject to recall. These vehicles have chassis numbers from 464052 to 469493 and have the possibility of cracking of the steering box mounting.

Operators of over 1,000 MON Metroriders involved in recalls are to be contacted by the company. It is possible that due to an inadequate description in the manual operators have put the wrong specification brake and clutch fluid into the system. This can cause the service brake to de-adjust and lead to overstroking of the park brake actuator diaphragm. The correct fluid is Castro] FMVSS DOT3. Manuals issued after Optare took over the construction rights are correct, Meanwhile, on the van/pickup side, the VW Taro's Low bar mounting bracket fixings are suspect as is the Golf front suspension fixing on vehicles built in September 1990.

Ford Fiesta vans built between Jan '89 and May '90 have suspect rear ventilation flaps which can, under certain circumstances, cause exhaust gas to be drawn into the vehicle. Also in the Ford range, 1.6litre diesel engined Escorts built between June 1986 and February 1988 can short circuit on the fuel cut-off solenoid. This is caused by the wire chafing against the throttle cable bracket.

In each case, operators of suspect vehicles should contact the manufacturers' local dealer.
