"He had put the fire out before the fire brigade arrived," says Transmer boss John Butler, who is angry that the farmers made no attempt to wake Brosnan before torching his truck.

Now Butler intends to press the French government for compensation for the ruined refrigeration unit, which is valued at £40,000.
