Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Electrical specialist Driftgate has introduced a Mk 3 version of its AC Powergen. This unit replaces a vehicle's standard alternator to provide a 240V (or 110y) output rated at 2.5kW.

The voltage has a quasi-sine wave form and can be used for normal AC power tools, says the company. Alternatively there is a DC output which can be used for arc welding (up to 170 amps) or boostcharging of six, 12 and 24-volt batteries.

For 12-volt vehicles the conversion kit costs 1695 (ex VAT). 24V versions are priced according to application.
