• Ingersol-Rand has introduced an ergonomically designed randomorbit sander, three cordless drills and extended its range of Cyclone pneumatic tools. There are two sanders of identical weight (2.3kg) and performance but with differing grip sizes for large or small hands. Vibration is said to he minimised by the use of a counterbalance system and a wide low-pivoted throttle reduces pressure on the palm of the hand. The non-lubricated sanders have dust extraction through and around the pad.
The cordless drills are available in 7.2V, 9.6V and 12V versions and are claimed to provide more torque than other models of similar voltages. All have keyless chucks and a one-hour charging system.
Three accessories have been added to the Cyclone range: CycloFile, CycloCut and CycloRoute. The CycloFile is the most appropriate for the workshop or paintshop. It is a small belt sander attachment for blending welds and tidying cut bodywork.
Air-operated shears have also been added to the Ingersol-Rand range with a range of blades to cut straight or curve.
