THREE Road Haulage Associa tion areas have already receive, wage claims in line with th £100 for 35 hours policy agree, last month by the Transport an General Workers Union.
The claims, lodged with th South Wales, Southern, am Eastern areas, all bear an ur canny resemblance to th national agreed goal. So far, nl meetings with TGWU have beei arranged.
RHA South Wales secretar Peter Webb said his area indusi rial relations committee has al ready met, and considers th, national £100 a week claim to 13, unrealistic, The economy o South Wales would not allow fo such an increase, he said.
Few of his members have hai a favourable reaction to appeal for increased rates following las winter's very modest wage in crease, Mr Webb added.
