Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Westinghouse CVB has produced a pamphlet that describes the company's air /hydraulic/mechanical servo unit that is particularly suitable for clutch operation on a vehicle having a supply of compressed air.

In this application, hydraulic pressure created in the clutch master cylinder by depression of the pedal is transferred to a piston in the servo unit that operates the clutch lever mechanism. At the same time hydraulic pressure simultaneously opens an inlet valve to an air chamber and closes an air-exhaust valve. A piston in this chamber is co-axial with the main operating piston and air pressure is thus used to increase the thrust on the clutch mechanism.
