Glasgow Corporation employees have been using a lot of oil recently. When this happens in transport we are inclined to keep quiet, as it's usually a sign of excessive wear. The Glasgow people, however, are so proud of the fact they even put the result on show, and then, believe it or not, they invited the boss along to see it. In fact they have been doing this since 1951 and this is the second time that corporation transport chief Eric Fitzpayne has opened the department's art exhibition. Apparently there are about 100 paintings around the McLellan Galleries and I understand they are all for sale for around £10. Ah well, every, little helps reduce the deficit.
