• Hebble Motor Services Ltd.. Halifax, has taken over responsibility for the operation of certain local routes in the West Riding of Yorkshire from its associate National Bus Company undertaking, Yorkshire Woollen District Transport Co. Ltd., Dewsbury.
Hebble is now responsible for the HalifaxLeeds via Cleckheaton route daily service and for the Halifax-Leeds direct service on Sundays only. It is also fully responsible for the Cleckheaton-Scholes and Halifax-Cleckheaton routes formerly operated jointly with Yorkshire Woollen.
Some excursions licences have also been transferred to Hebble.
• It has been pointed out to us that there was an error in the rates of pay quoted for company busmen in CM August. 22. The correct rates are: Top drivers who have accepted o-m-o get an extra 15s (not 5s) after one year's service which, added to the standard rate of £13 14s 10d makes a total of €14 9s 10d not £14 19s 10d.
• Bradford City Transport's traffic revenue for the year ended March 31 1969 was slightly down, at £10,328,947 compared with £10,496,435 in the previous year. Mileage decreased by 1,793.304 to 38,064,831 and passengers carried fell by 7,491,186 to 326,682,652.
• The Northern Traffic Commissioners will be asked in October to agree to a proposal by United Automobile Services Ltd. for increased fares ranging between 1d and 6d, due to a recent pay award. A spokesman at United's head office at Darlington said that the majority of fares would be affected if the application was successful. Date for the hearing is October 2.
