Stanley Turner has relinquished the appointment of PLA chief docks manager, which has been abolished, and has become director of industrial relations. responsible for the planning and conduct of negotiations with all trade unions.
A. J. Macintosh, 37, has been appointed assistant general manager of Associated ContaIner Transportation Ltd. Mr. Macintosh, previously the consortium's commercial manager, is succeeded by his deputy. L. B. Fiddock. Two further appointments announced by ACT ere: R. A. Blows, formerly manager of the Australian Department of Berman and Bucknall Steamship Co Ltd., becomes manager of the company's Australia-New Zealand-East Coast of North America container service, scheduled to become operational early in 1971: and David Gill, formerly of Port Line, to be commercial manager for the proposed UK-New Zealand service. George R. Harrison, 33, has been appointed works manager of York Trailer Co. Ltd.'s trailer manufacturing plant at Corby. Northants. Mr. Harrison came to York from the Mettoy Company where he was general manager of the Northampton manufacturing unit.
Christopher Leslie, 29, has been appointed contract hire manager of BEWAC Warwickshire Ltd. Mr. Leslie has joined BEWAC from BLMC, where he was a district supervisor responsible for liaison between dealers and distributors in South West England.
Alec Marshall, since 1963 home sales manager of Avery-Hardoll Ltd. has been promoted marketing manager. In the new organization under Mr. Marshall, Archie Diboll is export manager, and John Heape and Paul Arondel are the sales managers responsible for home trade garage equipment and industrial equipment respectively.
M. P. Kinane has resigned as a director of Reliant Motor Group.
D. E. Milligan is appointed general manager, wholesale sales, Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co. Ltd. He will be based at the company's head office on the Great West Road at Brantford. and will be responsible for all Firestone's wholesale sales activities throughout the UK, Mr. Milligan joined Firestone in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 1946 as a territory salesman.
Sir Joseph Hunt has been promoted deputy managing director of the Chloride Electrical Storage Co. Ltd.
OBITUARY
We record with regret the death of John Westwick. Mr. Westwick, 47, a haulage contractor of Houghton-le-Spring, Co.. Durham, died on holiday at Eastbourne,
