Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Designed to take optimum advantage from the exclusion of 30cwt light vans from carriers' licensing is a new Luton model from Rootes Maidstone Ltd, with a body that offers a capacity of 460 cult. as compared with 400 cu.ft. of the standard type.

The extra capacity is achieved by increasing the height of the roof from 7 to 8ft, an alteration that is expected to appeal particularly to the furniture trade and to operators requiring a compact vehicle with a large capacity. The one-piece roof panel is constructed of translucent glassfibre plastics and the roof stiffeners are bonded in to form an integral part of the assembly. The frame, of patented plywood construction, has fabricated steel strengthening brackets and is covered with either steel or aluminium panels, a method that combines strength with lightness and allows easy repair.

Based on a Commer 1500 or 2500 chassis cab or drive-away front end, the new Mark II Luton features Aeon hollow rubber suspen sion at front and rear to improve stability.

For chassis cab models the body is priced at £.318 with steel panels and £338 IOs with aluminium. Extra for the drive-away front end is £15 in each case. Prices include painting in primer; exterior vehicle painting is available at an additional £.47 10s.
