QHOWN to the Press on Tuesday, a n

driver's seat for commercial vehicl produced by A. W. Chapman, Li Ranelagh Gardens, London, S.W.6, collaboration with the Bostrom Co. Milwaukee, U.S.A., has rubber suspi sion. It is intended to isolate road shin and vibration and is known as LeverolI Level Ride.

The support structure for the seat made up of four levers pivoted at th tower ends on the corners of a mounti tray. Inclined inwards, the pair of lev at each side is connected to a longitudii rod mounted in a large rubber bush at forward end, the bushes being attached the bottom of the base for the seat. additional weight is applied to the se the levers tend towards the horizontal, t movement being resisted by the rubl torsion springs.

Resistance of •the suspension to weight of individual drivers can readily adjusted by a transverse screw the front of the seat, which alters spacing of the rubber bushes and longitudinal rods.

Double locking slides operated by lever on the left provide fore-andadjustment. Although not fitted at moment, a device is being designed to g vertical adjustment.

For vehicles which are frequently us off the road, provision is made for fitti a shock absorber to eliminate excess bounce. A special seat with a tubu frame and adjustable back rest has be designed by A. W. Chapman for use w the Level Ride system but 'any of th standard seats may be employed.

Pre-production models are bei offered to manufacturers and operati at a nominal price for service tests um operating conditions.
