Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN SEPTEMBER 20051 wrote to the Department forTransport to ask what the minimum break required after six hours' work was, as I found the information given in the Road Transport (Working Time) Guidance and Vosa's Drivers' Hours and Tachograph Rules for Goods Vehicles in the UK and Europe confusing.

The reply I received confirmed my interpretation that for shifts of over six hours, a minimum break of only 15 minutes is required after six hours' work not the "break of at least 30 minutes" stated by Vosa.

The DtT assured me that Vosa's guide would be amended.

It has been almost a year since raised this issue and Vosa's guide hasn't yet been altered.

1 was wondering what extra costs companies following Vosa's guide have incurred by the unnecessary breaks taken by drivers.
