DANGEROUS LIAISONS 11 The College of Petroleum Studies has produced the first of a series of desk-top manuals entitled Dangerous Substances, Their Classification and Labell ing — A Guide to Current UK Practice. The contents include a guide to the legislative background for the handling, classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances together with brief legal definitions of common terms associated with these materials.

Section 2 covers the information required to classify substances as dangerous for supply or conveyance according to UK regulations.

Other sections provide the labelling requirements for explosives, oxidizing, corrosive, toxic and irritant substances. A quick-reference chart covers more than 160 commonly-used substances.

The manual will be published on 15 October by CPS Publishing, Sun Alliance House, New Inn Hall Street, Oxford OX1 2QD, priced £67.50.
