Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• SELECTING a satisfactory bodyshop computer system still causes a good deal of confusion within the industry, says the Vehicle Builders and Repairers Association.

Many members ask for advice on hardware and software, says VBRA operations director Robert Hadfield. In order to help sort out the confusion the association is to run a computer workshop in October. Many major manufacturers will be exhibiting.

The VBRA is also interested in developing a totally new computer system for the bodyshop, aimed primarily at the independent repairer and capable of being used at international level.

"Computerisation is an area in which all bodyshops should be looking to develop," says Hadfield. "The correct use of computers can streamline the way in which a business can operate and also allow stock and costing information to be stored and used far more effectively. However, our members are acutely aware that to introduce an ineffective or badly supported system can create more work rather than less." Circle Turbo 56
