first DROPS vehicle at its Special Vehicle Assembly Plant at Leyland.
The truck will go to the Ministry of Defence for acceptance before the end of the year, and production vehicles will begin to come off the line from the first quarter of next year.
Leyland Dais SVAP will build 1,522 DROPS (Demountable Rack Off-loading and Pickup System) over the next three years in a contract worth .155 million.
