the Farington works of Leyland Motors, Ltd., is to be sent to Mexico. A prototype of this model, designated the 22.01/EL, built in the experimental division at Leyland, is now operating in British Columbia, Canada.
Apart from left-hand drive, airpressure braking and heavy-duty 11.00 by 20-in. tyres, which increase the gross rating to over 24 tons, the new model is similar to the normal type.
The Octopus for Mexico is to be fitted with a steel-framed platform body, 16 ft. long, built by W J. Reynolds (Motors), Ltd., Dagenham.
