ABILL sanctioning the sale to the Argentine Government of the Buenos Aires City Transport Corporation, in which about £20m. of British capital is invested, has been approved by the Chamber of Deputies. The Bill will pass to the Senate. The Government has bid 410m. pesos (about £101m.) for the undertaking.
The corporation's debts are so great (£371m.) that it is difficult to foresee any return to British shareholders, states "The Times."
