FINANCIAL disappointment has resulted from an experimental scheme of Glasgow Transport Department in running shuttle services between Corkerhill housing estate and the railway station to connect with morning, mid-day and evening trains. Nevertheless, its continuance for another three months has been recom• mended.
It has been agreed that the department should negotiate with the Railway Executive for• a contribution towards the cost of the service. Under the existing arrangement, the single bus fare is lid, and there is a weekly season ticket for combined road and rail travel which costs 4s. 6d., of which the department receives Is, and the Executive 3s. M.
