Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN One of Scotland's largest hauliers, Charles Alexander Transport, has strengthened its operations north of the border with the acquisition of the business of Perth Carriers.

The purchase, for an undisclosed sum, is one of the first developments to occur at Charles Alexander since Tom Warnock took over as managing director earlier this year.

Perth Carriers has worked as s sub contractor for Charles Alexander in the past, distributing fish deliveries in the Perth area.

Under the sale, Perth Carriers (with 20 vehicles and 26 staff) will become a division of Charles Alexander Transport and will continue to operate under the Perth Carriers name. Perth's existing staff and drivers will be retained.

Jock Lamb will take over the role of commercial manager at Perth, while Frank McCarry, formerly sales manager of Charles Alexander's Glasgow depot, will become manager at the Perth depot.

Tom Warnock says, "We see the acquisition of Perth Carriers strengthening our coverage of Tayside and central regions." Charles Alexander operates 200 vehicles with 450 staff and is part of the Transport Development Group.
