• Rentco International has announced plans to spend £17.5 million on 1,250 new trailers between now and the end of next year.
The company, which currently operates 6,500 trailers in eight countries in Europe and Scandinavia, plans to 'considerably expand' its fleet with the investment.
By March next year the company will have taken delivery of 500 new trailers, with a further 750 by the end of 1988. when the company will be operating around 7,500 units.
Rentco expects the European trailer rental market to grow steadily in the coming 14 months, with demand in the UK particularly strong for high. specification trailers. Around 10% of Rentco's total investment will be in premium specification wide-bodied reefers. More than half the trailers ordered will be tri-axles, reflecting a growing preference for this type of trailer throughout Europe.
